Bikes to Borrow
If you feel like a ride along our foreshore we have a couple of bikes available for guests to borrow. Just ask at the office
Blankets and Pillows
These are kept in the wardrobe or pillow box, extra available upon request
Menus menus are available at reception. Please order at front desk by 8.00pm previous evening. Continental breakfasts may be delivered the night before.
Cooked breakfasts on weekends available from 8 am
If there are any spillages on ceramic tops, treat as follows:
If sugary liquid wipe immediately while hot
All other spills wipe element when cold.

Check in time is from 2.00pm
Check out time is 10.00 am
Any other arrangements must be at the management discretion
Cooking in the Units
Please avoid cooking shellfish and other odour-smelling foods in our motel units, as this will leave lingering food odours that may be offensive to subsequent guests. A cleaning surcharge of one night’s accommodation may be added to your account if this occurs.
We accept all major credit cards: Amex, Mastercard & Visa. Personal Cheques cannot be accepted unless prior arrangements have been made.
Daily Room Service
All units will be serviced daily unless requested otherwise. Fresh towels, toilet paper, soap, tea, coffee etc will be supplied daily. It is Motel Policy that our cleaning staff do not move personal items, so this may impede what servicing staff can do. Should you specifically want the bed made please make sure that it is clear of personal items. We also have a policy to try and conserve our natural resources, so if you are happy to re-use your towels please hang them on the heated towel rail and if you would like fresh ones, please place them in the bath.

As much as we like them, they are NOT PERMITTED in the units. However guide and hearing dogs are welcome here.
This can be arranged. Please leave at Reception by 9.00am for same day service.
These are available on all beds in winter. Each side of the bed has a separate temperature control. Setting 1 is the lowest with 3 being the hottest. Please make sure you turn these off when finished.

All of our units have a water filter to enhance the taste of the New Plymouth water supplies.
Please read the instruction sheet located on the wall by your door in your unit. In case of evacuation please follow any instructions given by staff
Situated down the right of the complex. Hours: 8 am – 8 pm. There is an iron/ironing board available in the wardrobe of every unit. A clothesline is outside unit 15. We have washing powder at reception for a small charge. We have another machine available if needed.
Supplied in your unit
All units have air-conditioning for cooling and heating. When turning on the air-conditioning unit, please allow five minutes before adjusting any of its functions as the unit will not work properly. If this happens, remove your key tag for one minute to reset the air-conditioning unit.

If you want to call another unit you will need to put a 4 in front of the unit number i.e. unit 2 is 402.
We have High Speed Wireless Unlimited Internet available in all units. Password is on the wall by the telephone.
Please place the tag of the key into the power box in your unit under the light switch. This is required to turn on your TV and heating.
Please remember to hand in your key to the office.
A charge of $15 will apply for lost keys.
Late Check Out
A late check out may be arranged but depending on availability, this is not always possible, so we ask that you notify Reception as soon as possible as we don’t want to offend you by asking you to depart before your planned time. An extra charge may apply.
If the cleaners find any articles left in the unit after you have checked out, we will endeavour to contact you ASAP. A stamped Courier Bag is required to return items. Food items will be disposed of.
We are happy to store luggage if necessary, please just ask at reception
If you encounter any broken or faulty equipment during your stay we would be most grateful if you would advise us. This allows us to have the fault rectified promptly. Guests will be responsible for any damage to room furnishings and fixtures.

Every request or enquiry will receive courteous attention at all times but we would appreciate the observance of the above hours unless the matter is urgent. Guests wishing to depart prior to office opening are asked to settle their accounts the previous evening.

Here at Beach Street Motel & Apartments we endeavour to recycle as much as possible. To assist us in this please leave any recyclables next to your rubbish bin.
For your own protection we advise you to:

Make sure your room is secure when empty
Check thoroughly that you have collected all your possessions when you leave.
Scanning Documents & Printing
Reception Staff are available to scan a document should you need it. Printing can also be done and there may be a charge for this.
Please note that all our units are non-smoking. For the comfort of incoming guests smoking outside the unit would be appreciated. A cleaning charge of one night’s accommodation will be incurred if the unit has been smoked in.
Surf Board Hire
Just down the street at Beach Street Surf Shop you can hire surfboards, wetsuits and paddleboards as well as surfing and paddleboard lessons

If phoning Motel after hours and you know the extension-required press 4 before the room number. Eg if the room number is 13 then dial 413.
All phone calls are charged at current Spark rates for business.
We now have sky decoders in every unit. To turn the TV on, use the remote, there will be a small delay while sky warms up. We only have one remote which operates both the TV and sky. We have the full range of programmes including movies and sport. Please refer to the sky book for what is on. There is also Freeview on the TV’s in the bedrooms. Please turn on the TV with the TV remote and put the TV onto AV. Changing channels is done with the Freeview remote.
The privilege of having visitors is at the discretion and by courtesy of the Motel Management and is not the accepted right of the paying guests. Kindly ask your visitors to park their cars on the street at all times. In consideration of other guests we do not allow parties or large gatherings in Motel units. Your guests must leave quietly before 10.00pm
